A member asked:

Had pneumonia. took 10 days of aveelox and a steroid. returned for a repeat chest x-ray one week after i finished antibiotics and there was still fluid in lung. it was better but still there. is that normal? can it take awhile to resolve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: clinical findings always lag the findings on the X-ray. In other words at the begging you may be worse than the X-ray shows and at the end you are better before the X-ray clears up. It may take a few weeks for the X-ray to be clear after your symptoms have resolved
