A member asked:

My dr took blood work after 3 weeks of sore throat, no voice, now have bacterial infection why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sore throat: How did "blood work" show bacterial infection? The only way you could show bacterial pharyngitis is a swab and culture. You may have secondary bacterial laryngitis both of which should respond to antibiotics if the cause is bacterial. I encourage you to see an ENT for the laryngitis. If you smoke, stop now. Are you asking why you may have a bacterial infection? bacterial pharyngitis is contracted
