Yes: An ear infection doesn't cause a sore throat or hoarseness, but the three can all be related. Ear infections often occur after someone acquires an upper respiratory virus or other germ. The germ that causes throat irritation & changes in voice can set stage fro the germs to invade the middle ear. On some occasions a virus will do all three at the same time.
