I have an abscess tooth and taking antibiotics but my jaw wont open very wide what to i need to do?

Call your dentist: Antibiotics take a couple of days to begin reducing infection, but will not cure an abscessed tooth. The tooth itself has to be treated. Call your Dentist. You may have a TMJ problem, or you may have a spreading infection problem that may require different antibiotic management. Don't wait, call now.

Must get to source: See a dentist or an endodontist (root canal specialist,) asap to get to the source of the infection, not the symptoms of the infection.

No worry, trismus: It is normal to have muscle stiffness (trismus) after mouth surgery, this will pass in a few weeks. It will resolve on its own and no treatment is needed.

See oral surgeon: Common with infected teeth. Should respond to antibiotics. Sometimes antibiotics don't work well. I would recommend seeing an oral surgeon ASAP.
