How long does an abscess tooth take? i am on my 7th day. i am taking an antibiotic 3 times a day

Abscess: By now it should have resolved. However it is important to get the recomended treatment.

Depends...: On the source of abscess.. If it is a periodontal (gum origin) abscess, (meaning that something like a pop corn kernel or nuts, or chips piece is stuck underyr gum line) , then after cleaning thoroughly and upon loss of local inflammation, it may go away.. But if ur abscess is a tooth/root abscess, then it might be due to root canal infection, or root fracture, and it will come back again!

RCT done right?: I am assuming that your root canal treatment was completed. In that case, the abscess will usually revolve itself in 7-10 days. If you haven't had treatment then it will come back again and again...

Abscess..: I goes away when the cause of the infection is eliminated, and the appropriate antibiotic aids the body in eliminating the local infection. It takes from days to weeks to months to never. For example, a simple gum infection may take a few days. A treated rct tooth up to a week. A fractured infected root without further treatment in a medically compromised patient---never.
