Risk: you need to not smoke, eat a Mediterranean diet, get regular aerobic exercise daily, keep your bp controlled, and watch out for other risk factors. If you do these things you'll minimize your chances of vascular problems developing

Arterial blockage: a "normal" stress test does not mean an absence of partial blockage, so yes you could still develop plaque fracture/rupture with a secondary clot and occlusion. A negative stress test does not unfortunately confer immortality! ongoing or newly evolving symptoms MUST always be thoroughly investigated

A 25-year-old member asked:

Will my blood clot put me at risk for a heart attack or a stroke?

Dr. Timothy Ashley
Internal Medicine and Pediatrics 15 years experience
Probably Not: The major risk of venous blood clots is that they can travel to the lungs as a pulmonary embolus, which can be deadly. This is the main reason clots need to be treated. Rarely, if a person has a common heart defect or a rare artery clot, clots can lead to stroke. Heart attacks with blood clots would almost always be related to pulmonary emboli, rather than the clot itself.

What kind of impact does stress have on breast cancer?

4 doctor answers8 doctors weighed in
Dr. Ritesh Rathore
Hematology and Oncology 30 years experience
Very Important: There is no link between stress and development of breast cancer. Stress can adversely affect a womans' ability to undergo complex and lengthy breast cancer treatment- this in turn can lead to inferior results. Patients without psychosocial support for stress can develop problems such as ptsd, strained spousal relationships, sexual problems, etc.

Whats it mean when a woman urinates blood and has sharp pains on the side above hips?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Vance Harris

Many causes: The most common thing is a bladder infection but there are other causes like a kidney stone (should hurt) or something in the bladder like polyps or other growths. Some bladder conditions like interstitial cystitis can bleed. See a doctor for the right diagnosis as this could be something important. Always get sharp pain checked out as well. Thats our body telling us something is not right.
