A member asked:

What's the clinical significance of having a normal ekg and echocardiogram at rest but seeing pvcs and pacs during a stress test? do pvcs and pacs indicate a myocardial injury? blood test is also normal. what other tests should be ordered?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A normal echo at rest signifies normal cardiac structures but a stress echo is needed to evaluate coronary artery status. Apparently yours was OK. This study doesn't shed light on the degree of atrial&ventricular irritability. PVCs during recovery stage of exercise is felt to be of concern. An outpatient cardiac monitoring for 48 hours or longer is needed to assess the importance of the PACs&PVCs
