Not exclusively: Liquid diet preparations need to contain a balance of the nutrients you need throughout the day. If they do, they are a convenient way to take in a calorie-controlled meal. But its best to also have the fiber/other benefits of food. Replacing one or at most two meals with a balanced liquid diet can be ok. Danger of all liquid diets: calories too low, lose too fast, metabolism falls, REGAIN!
