Excretion is normal.: The kidneys excrete (produce, emit) urine under normal circumstances. When you have a CT scan, the contrast ('dye') you were given through your vein is excreted along with the urine from the blood stream. The 'dye' outlines your kidneys, ureters, and bladder (your 'plumbing') for the radiologist. to see.
