A member asked:

My dad has rls and i think i do as well. is it be genetic? should i use his medication?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Autosomal dominant: About 60% of RLS is familial, meaning it runs in families, and the inheritance is believed to be autosomal dominant with variable penetrance, so the inheritance part is unpredictable. I think you should see a neurologist, get a diagnosis, and let the doctor decide what medication is best for you. You shouldn't use someone else's medication if you don't exactly know what you are treating.
