Possibly: The vast majority of PRV is JAK2 positive. There are other causes of erythrocytosis besides PRV. Evaluation by an experienced hematologist would be useful. Other causes of erythrocytes is include hemoglobin oaths, renal tumor, sleep apnea, lung disease, etc.

Have JAK2-negative polycythemia. Any further testing that might diagnose the cause? Do not smoke (quit 5 years ago) and do not live in high altitudes.
I have an idiopathic erythrocytosis. (Hb fluctuates 17.5-18.5) My gene tests, BM Bx., Abd CT, heart sono, Brain MR, EPO level, P50, and NGS for hereditary forms all went back normal. Will I have normal life expectancy? I am exhausted and puzzled.
