got a methylprednisone shot today, but it isn't working. woke up with severe allergies. how much benedryl can i take?

Allergies: you have to give the steroids some time to work. It isn't instantaneous. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can be taken at a dose of 25-50 mg every 6 hours. However, newer antihistamines are less sedating such as Zyrtec and Claritan.
