My son has tetralogy of fallot. he is a month old & hasn't had surgery yet. i have a cold. would it be very dangerous for him to catch it?

Tetralogy: It is not great when a baby of that age catches a cold. Since you are his mother and have it, it also means he has no natural protection. When is his surgery scheduled? Do your best to keep him away from the virus...good handwashing, purell and a face mask for you. Good luck with everything.

Yes, possibly: Keep in mind that infants in general have smaller airways, smaller reserve and can have more significant symptoms and morbidity than adults. Now add to this that this pt has a congenital heart lesion and you can understand that you want to try to keep this pt as healthy as possible, and although he may do well with a cold, his likelyhood of not doing well is higher than the general population.
