Advil (ibuprofen): If you meant advil (ibuprofen) its an anti inflammatory pill used for pain. It will help but not cure a sore throat. You need to see a doctor to find out why your throat is sore

Not a cure: Avil also known as pheniramine is an antihistamine. This means its really used to treat allergic conditions, like seasonal allergies.
