I had my flu jab on thursday, it still has a red oval shape around it but doesn't hurt, is this normal?

Not that uncommon: Without seeing and feeling it, it sounds like you just have some local irritation at the injection site, which is common with many different vaccines. As long as you don't have fevers, spreading redness, increasing pain, discharge at the site, you'll likely be fine. Consider cold compresses to speed resolution. But if you are that worried, address this with the doctor who vaccinated you.

See doc: No, you may have a hypersensitivity to something in the vaccine. It would be a good idea for your PCP to look at it and document it.

Possibly: Flu shot side effects may include: slight swelling, redness or pain at vaccination site. If headache, nausea, fever or muscular pain occur they usually resolve within one to two days. You won't get the flu from a flu shot because the virus either contains inactivated virus or doesn't have virus particles in it. Severe side effects are rare.
