Avoid constipation: Internal hemorrhoids (dilated/engorged veins) are further inside the anus, so not visible from the outside. It is very common for internal hemorrhoids to bleed, but uncommon to experience significant or life-threatening bleeding from them. The key to treating them: avoid constipation/no straining: lots of water, high fiber (metamucil), colace, tucks (witch hazel) wipes, sitz bathes. Most resolve this way.
