Bummer! : When you say "colon" are you referring to the anal sphincter area or the abdomen, because those are different issues. If you were (or are chronically) constipated, you may suffer from hemorrhoids &/or anal fissures. The force of the enema could traumatize them. For belly pain, rest those intestines. Hydrate, stick to clears (jello, soup) & work up to toast/crackers as tolerated & tell your doctor.

NO!!!: Enema or no enema, it is never normal for any part of your body to feel "inflamed" and "like it's on fire." I don't know specifically why your doctor ordered an enema but please let her know what you have been experiencing since then.
