Maybe: The fever in and of itself is not a cause for concern. You can manage the fever by alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen every 2-3 hours and by tepid baths. The question is what are his other symptoms? If he is having respiratory distress (breathing hard, heavy or fast), appearing lethargic or in pain, then an immediate trip to the ER is necessary.
