Poss. renal disease: First suggest you rule out orthostatic proteinuria. Benign proteinuria from being erect. Set alarm for 2 hours after bed, empty bladder, then collect first am specimen. Home free if recumbent specimen negative. Strenuous excercise, stress & dehdration benign. Otherwise need to rule out renal diseases e.G glomerulonephritis, collagen diseases, drugs, infections, diabetes, sickle cell & rare others.
