Yes & Yes: You will be able to place that nesbit back in your mouth after the wound heals, which could be anywhere from three to six weeks. It would certainly be necessary to modify the underside since the gingiva will have a different architecture. If you could do without wearing it at all, there would be absolutely no trauma at all to the healing implants and surrounding tissue.

Be patient: As a general rule it is good to be cautious for 6-8 weeks and chew with other side as much as possible. Yes it is possible to adjust your "nesbit" by using a soft tissue conditioner.

Yes you can: When an implant is first placed, it is better not to eat in it until they have integrated. But your dentist might make a temporary or flipper or Nesbit to cover it.
