A member asked:

Unable to locate my left ovary during abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound, what could this mean? under investigation for infertility (ttc for 3yrs).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon: It is not uncommon for them to be unable to visualize one of the ovaries during an ultrasound. They can be obscured by things like intestinal gas or by positioning. They show up best when there is a cyst so not seeing this makes that less likely. Sometimes the ovary will be visualize by just repeating the ultrasound a little later.
