How long will treatment for kidney cancer last?

Depends: Kidney cancer can be curable if caught early and treatment is rendered. If the cancer is early stage, no further treatment may be needed and the cancer may never return or may return many years later. If the cancer is at a higher stage at the time of diagnosis, then there is a higher probability of recurrence in a shorter period of time.

Depend on stage: If caught early- the best treatment will be surgery to cure the cancer. If unresectable or in advance stage with cancer spreading to other organ- treatment would be an oral smart medicine like tyrosine kinase inhibitor ( sunitinib, sorafenib, pazopanib) vs m-tor inhibitor vs interleukin-2 etc. This treatment will need to be continued as long as it is tolerated and as long as it continues to work.
