Everytime i go to the country, i get rashes and a terrible itch that keeps me awake during the night. can benadryl (diphenhydramine) help?

Yes: THERE MAY BE SOMETHING IN THE ENVIRONMENT YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO THERE.Try to weed that out.Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will help but perhaps daily zyrtec or claritin and 'exclusion' of the triggereing factor would be more long term.
