Common Sensation: What you are describing sounds like palpitations which are quick extra heartbeats. This is very common and in the overwhelming number of cases benign. Most skipped or extra beats do not indicate a heart problem but in some cases it can be associated with minor valve differences seen in woman or even an over active thyroid. I would recommend seeing a cardiologist to check this out thoroughly
