What is the best otc yeast infection medication? if i know it's yeast for sure, is taking otc just as good as getting an prescription from my doctor?

The otc ones are all about the same. The otc creams and tablets can some times cause local irritation and burning (but they also can relieve symptoms about a day or so sooner than the prescription tablet diflucan). Diflucan (fluconazole) is more convenient to take, but can cause GI symptoms like stomach upset - and doesn't work any significantly better than the otc meds.
