Blood pressure meds: There are many different medicines that can be used to lower high blood pressure. Doctors choose among them based on several factors, including whether there are other medical problems (like diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease). Costs vary a lot among different medicines. Many can be taken once a day, while some require 2 or 3 or 4 doses daily.

Medicine for BP: Generally speaking, the best medication for blood pressure control would be (1) the one that works and (2) that takes into account your other medical issues. Realize, though, that it's unusual to be able to effectively control your blood pressure with just one medication - patients typically need two or three so you need medications that play nicely together in your body.

Which Way Is UpDown?: To increase blood pressure? To decrease it? What? You gotta problem? There's LOTS of medicines for treating blood pressure either way, by far the most common for lowering blood pressure. They are all based on what the problem is. It's kind of complicated. But at 16, if you have a blood pressure problem, ask mom to take you to the doctor
