My right thumb has been hurting. it locks down a little in the morning. what is causing it and what can i do about it?

Trigger thumb: Trigger thumb, like trigger finger is caused by scarring in the flexor tendon sheaths of the hand. You can massage this frequently throughout the day, use deep hearing via a paraffin bath, or therapeutically with red laser, ultrasound, or diathermy. If these conservative treatments fail, injections in the sheath can be performed.
