A member asked:

If my partner has rubella and i am 22 weeks pregnant, am i putting my unborn child at risk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If you had the illness or the vaccine as a kid, or at any other time, you are immune and your fetus should be protected. Your OB can test you to be sure. If not, you have likely been exposed enough to get the disease (unless he is living far away), and only time will tell.Fetal rubella at 22-24 wks can produce miscarriage, deafness, blindness and other permanent complications.
