Harm to baby: The reason for keeping women at 35 weeks in the hospital for observation usually is that without the surveillance, which not only includes technology, but also having vital signs taken regularly and interaction with and observation by nurses, the risk for harm to mom or the baby is way higher than when being observed in the hospital.
