Depends....: It depends on the medications used for sedation and pain relief, if any. If you are given medications for sedation and/or pain relief, you may need to be observed for a few hours to be sure the meds are worn off enough that you will not have decreased breathing once you go home. You also need to be observed to be sure any bleeding from the procedure has stopped.

Post op: IVC filter care involves bed rest for 2-4 hours depending on your case specifics.
