A member asked:

Can an opthamologist remove a freckle in the eye?

Where is the freckle: Yes and no. It depends on its location. If the freckle is on the retina then it is the purvey of a retinal specialist. If it is on the iris then an anterior segment surgeon can remove the freckle. If it is on the eye lid, conjunctiva or other surface locations that too can be removed. The important question is why? Has the freckle changed? Is there concern for malignancy? Or is it cosmetic?

Yes: Get it seen. If it needs to be removed for health reasons, it's do-able. It might be best to leave it alone.
