What does it mean when my nine month old's head is in the 97th percentile?

He has a big head: At least 3% of the normal population will have a head of this size or more, and usually one or other parent does too. There are some medical conditions where this is worrisome, but the doc will look into that. For most, it is just hard to find a hat that fits. It doesn't bother me at all.
