TTN and PTX: TTN is transient tachypnea of the newborn. It typically will resolve with time and usually requires only supportive care. Some infants may be born with retained fluid in their lungs and natural mechanisms to balance fluids are in place. The pneumothorax or collapsed lung, may be due to delivery and pressure on the baby's chest. The treatment depends upon the extent of the pneumothorax.
