A member asked:

Hello, what does perihilar interstitial prominence, with no focal consolidation, effusion, or pneumothorax mean in simple terms thank you ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing significant: This is often the wording used when the x-ray was not taken during a very deep breath, which is how most are meant to be captured. This allows a natural increased central (perihilar) density. It has no significance beyond allowing the radiologist to say the film was not perfect. The other words state nothing wrong was found.
