Treat you anxiety: If you are losing weight due to anxiety then you need to treat the anxiety better. Although drugs like Xanax (alprazolam) can help for a while there are better treatments. You might consider talk therapy - it really helps. And many doctors use antidepressants to treat anxiety. Studies show the best approach is a combination of antidepressants and psychotherapy (talk therapy).

You should start with a complete physical check up with blood tests including test for thyroid problem. You may also want to consider talking with a psychiatrist to identify any underlying psychological problems that might benefit by therapy with or without medications
