Could be: Depending how much alcohol you are consuming it could certainly cause these liver test abnormalities. Usually the AST would be much higher than the ALT though. There are many other causes of abnl liver tests depending on your weight, medications you're taking, or a viral infection. Your doctor will tell how frequently to monitor these tests depending on what the cause is found to be.
