Usually biopsies: It is typical to do biopsies from the different parts of tract: esophagus, different regions of stomach, duodenum. This is because even if the GI tract looks well it is possible to have abnormalities at the cellular level.

EGD and Biopsy: TA biopsy is usually involved and most of the times it would be to rule out possibility of an infection( H-Pylori) and other times if some abnormality is noted which needs biopsy done to get further information.
