Safe, but: It's safe, but why not ask your doctor to give you a prescription for simvastatin. It's a medium to high (depending on dose) potency statin that's well studied and well tolerated. Best of all, it's generic and much less expensive. If you wish to stay with Lipitor, at least get the generic, atorvastatin.
