In my report, my gi stated my 'liver feels soft on palpation, 3-4cm ' what does this mean?

Liver edge: A normal liver feels soft and the edge of liver can be palpated below the ribcage around roughly that distance, If there are no symptoms associated then it may mean normal liver however without whole clinical picture the comment is null.
