Gastrin: Markedly elevated gastrin levels can be caused by certain tumors which also can cause multiple peptic ulcers. Milder elevations are caused by lack of normal stomach acids caused by use of ppi medications or by development of gastric atrophy. I don't think NAFLD is related. Your gastroenterologist will order appropriate tests to determine the cause of your elevated gastrin levels.
