A member asked:

How common are muscle/joint pain in acute hiv infection, and what are the characteristics and duration?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: In your case it can be related to musculoskeletal pains not related to HIV at all. We see people with HIV who develop arthritis syndromes, but these are not specifically from HIV. You say you have no systemic symptoms and this is good but aches and pains can occur for many reasons none of which are specific for HIV. In the early days of HIV we saw psoriatic arthritis and reactive type.
