Of course: When used in the management of a patient with chronic musculoskeletal pain, amitriptyline may decrease pain, improve depression, improve sleep and provide some muscle relaxation. Amitriptyline should not be abruptly discontinued to avoid withdrawal symptoms (e.g., malaise, insomnia, drowsiness, muscle aches).
