It is great that your blood pressure and thyroid condition are well controlled, but the #1 thing you must do to decrease your risk for heart disease is to stop smoking. If you are obese, have a family history of heart disease, high cholesterol or have diabetes, your risk increases further. There are many smoking cessation programs available.
