There are a few beta-blockers. So each last for different amounts of time in the body. They can lower the heart rate and can affect heart function, in some cases are used in people who had heart attacks. They are used for some symptoms of anxiety. They are not used as antidpepressants. It sounds like you need sound advice. Do not take beta-blockers if not recommended by a doctor. See your doctor.
