Ok: It may actually be helpful to take iron with juices rich in vitamin C because iron is more easily absorbed when taken with vitamin C. Ascorbic acid is the strongest iron inhancer, reducing ferric iron to ferrous iron. Avoid iron inhibitors like tannins in tea, red wine and phytates in nuts, seeds, grains and cereal. They prevent non heme iron from being absorbed
