Viral infection: Your daughter's symptoms are most likely due to a virus. This can be treated with fluids and rest, saltwater gargles for sore throat, Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin and for fever headache and chills. Symptoms usually resolve in 10 to 14 days. If her symptoms get worse, follow up with her pediatrician.
