Urine output: One of the ways we gauge adequate breast milk intake is by the number of wet diapers a baby makes in a 24 hour period ( should be at least 5). The other way is by weight gain ( at least an ounce per day). Stooling patterns are highly variable in nursed newborns as some stool every feed while others stool once a week!

See a doctor ASAP: Not pooping for a day or two is not a serious concern, but no urination for more than a day can definitely be a sign of dehydration. Since you can't see if the poop was mixed in with urine, it is a good idea to take the baby to the doctor or nearest urgent care center to see if all is well. Other signs of dehydration include depressed fontanelle, jaundice, no tears, tenting of skin. Go see a doc
