Internist: Virginia, Internal medicine, general medicine, primary care physicians are well trained to managed diabetes. Endocrinologists or diabetes specialists have advanced training in diabetic management. Diabetes is a complex disease and patients often have to visit eye specialists, cardiologists (heart doctors) and nephrologists (kidney doctors) for care.
