Transmitting hearing: loss to a baby can occur with HCMV and other "torch infections" (you have to have the infection yourself though) Autosomal dominant congenital hearing loss is transmitted to all offspring (but may have variable expression). Recessive inheritance requires both parents have the gene. There are over 300 causes for inherited deafness. I suggest you see a specialist who can determine your type.
