My 3 1/2 yr old daughter is having bad growing pains. any ideas on what we can do to help her she was up 2x last night screaming in pain.

Growing Pains: Growing pains are common and the cause remains a mystery. Make sure you are not dealing with any other problem. If not, generally massage, heat and Tylenol/Ibuprofen is the best solution. Sometimes giving her a dose of either before bedtime for a brief time may help. All the best.

See Your Doctor: Growing pains occur ages 3-12 yrs, cause nocturnal pain usually in legs but can be thigh, calf, forearms, trunk; is of a benign nature. There is no limp ,joint pain or history of precipitating cause or illness. Treated with heat, massage, pain relievers. However diagnosis requires a thorough evaluation to exclude serious causes such as arthritis & more. See doctor for correct diagnosis & treatment
